Glen Chandler at your service; IT meddler and HT evangelist.
Got a William Phelps Calibrated Proxima SX1 D-ila; need to make a hushbox soon. Went average on the sound; HK AVR130 and Polk Audio 5.1.
I can spot a DLP from 50 feet; I am REALLY susceptible to RBE, in fact I just can’t plain watch a DLP image.
I haven't taken the time to find any local enthusiasts yet, so this board will be a good for my hobby and wallet.

Welcome Glen.
I can spot the rainbows on 1x and 2x colorwheel DLP's but on higher speeds they are harder to spot. However, the blistering headache I get 30 minutes later is always a tipoff.

Glad to be part of the group and its threads. The 1st Gen Infocus's I owned 3-4 years ago were downright painful to watch; the Compact 1400 was a little better but still the DLP shutter was obvious. I just recently went to Kromer to preview their offerings, with the Sim 2 and Optoma's but they were unfortunately not better for me as I could still feel it/see it. As I'm in IT, whenever I come across a CRT running at 60 Hz I need to change it to at least 72Hz so that I can work on it. I guess I can't enjoy the extra CR from DLP and will stick with the D-ila's less CR; but I will always get them calibrated with WM .
