Hello, the name is John. I just spotted this little place while I was on AVS. I have been heavily into home theatre for almost 8 years now. A long time for me as I am only 25, lol. I started out with a cheap JVC surround sound system and worked my way up from there. My system is fairly modest, but not too shabby taking into account I have spent the last 5 years of my life in school.
My system consists of: 61" Samsung 1080P DLP Rear Projection HDTV Denon AVR 3300 (waiting for HDMI 1.3) Bryston 4BSST two channel amp Toshiba HD DVD player HD-A1(fireware 2.0) B&W Speakers 604s in front, CC6 centre, DM600 back, ASW 1000 subwoofer Belkin PF60 power conditioner
I know very few people with as much interested in home theatre as myself so feel free to contact me if you are in the same boat. I hate not having people to share this intertest with. I am totally up for hosting events at my place if there is an interest. I will post something in the meeting section as well. I live right downtown, near Queen and Spadina. It is a condo, so there is not crazy room for large meets, but I can handle three or four people comfortably at a time.

I love my TV. I have the HLR6168W Samsung 1080P. I am so glad I went with the 1080P over the 720P now that I have my HD DVD player. It needs to be calibrated by a professional, which I plan to do next year when I need a new bulb. The detail is great though. I compare this DLP set at 1080P with my parents similarly sized LCD and there is no comparison. I actually feel bad because I told my parents to get that TV, but I suppose we all learn. I was kinda bothered by rainbows at the beginning but now I hardly see them. Whenever I do get a projector I will most likely get a 3 chip DLP though just not avoid the issue. I have done some tweaking in the service menu do get rid of DNie and that has helped to bring out more detail. This years models will be nice because they will accpet 1080P natively, but my thinking is now I am one year closer to upgrading again and this time I can get a display device with HDMI 1.3 giving me deep colour and auto lip sync correction.
